What is VEED.IO?

VEED.IO is an online video editing platform that makes creative videos easy and accessible to all. Our platform is used by millions of creators around the world who use our products to tell stories, create content, grow audiences and more (hey, you might even know some of them!).

Since we started VEED in 2018, we have grown much faster than we could have ever imagined. We are now one of the most popular video editing applications in the world. As our user base grows so does our talented team and we would love you to be part of that journey.

How do we build the product?

We love talking to our users and think it is the best way to get to know them. This is important because after all, they are the ones paying for it!

To date, this strategy has guided our entire product development and has served us extremely well….

That being said, as our customer base keeps growing it is becoming harder and harder to do this manually. Our ambition is to make data-driven decision making at the core of our culture as we move forward and we need your help to make this happen!

Good design is important not only to us but to our users as well. And of course, behind any well designed product or service is a talented group of people that makes the magic happen. Building powerful video editing tools in the browser that are extremely accessible is a huge technical challenge. We are an ambitious team and are constantly trying to push the boundaries of what was possible on the web. And this is exactly why we are always on the lookout for the most talented, creative and exciting teammates to join us!

Who are we looking for?

VEED.IO is looking for Senior Software Engineers to join our team.

We are looking for someone who gets thrilled by the idea of solving deep technical problems, takes pride in their own work and likes to get creative to build innovative things. We really believe that best candidates typically don’t think of themselves as just engineers, but rather view themselves as makers. This means not being afraid of working on something you have never done before, have a broad set of skills you are always looking to expand and most importantly you thrive in an environment where there is lots of freedom.

We also know that not everyone fits into boxes and we are all always learning. However, here are a few things that we are looking for.

  • Strong knowledge of either JavaScript or C++ with 4+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience working in a full-stack capacity (frontend, backend, servers, etc) as you’ll be expected to contribute across the stack.
  • Have a startup-mentality - Problem solver.
  • We don’t care about university degrees, but ideally we would like to see you have a good bit of theoretical knowledge in areas you have worked in + interested in.
  • Enjoy working at a fast pace.
  • Have good communication skills + A team player who is happy to lend a hand if someone gets stuck.
  • We care about how we write our code. So we are looking for someone who is comfortable going through code reviews, knows how to test their code and make it more performant.
  • Be able to contribute to the culture of engineering excellence by writing better documentation, teaching more junior teammates or improving processes around engineering in general.
  • Experience working with video is a bonus.

What will you be doing?

Building a video editor that our users love, of course!

Our stack consists of 3 main parts: Frontend written in React, Node/Express API and Rendering Engine written in C/C++. You’ll be working on most of these parts, including work with servers / infrastructure, it all depends on which projects you’ll be involved in. As an early-stage startup we are not extremely overbuilt and have a lot of greenfield space to explore, test new ideas and do research.

We are always open to new ideas as well! Is graphQL something we want to consider? Or maybe something needs automating? Kubernetes? A new pattern we should adopt? Tell us more! We love people who are curious and take initiative.

What makes us special?

Our entire team is remote (and always has been). We are happy as long as you’re happy. You will have the freedom and autonomy you need to make decisions and do your best work. Our team is smart, energetic, extremely talented and driven. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we all love what we do.

Work remotely? Work from home with your dog? Work in a cafe? Need a few days off? Swap a weekday for a weekend? Working a half-day?

All of the above is 100% good for us!

Who are we?

VEED is a fast-growing bootstrapped company founded by Sabba Keynejad & Timur Mamedov. At the time of writing (15th of January) Veed has grown from $0 to $2.7M ARR in just 16 Months in a highly competitive market. We may be bootstrapped, but we have venture scale dreams.

OH one more thing! We would really encourage applications from ALL candidates. Our team is diverse in every way possible and we want to keep it that way :)

Ordergroove is looking for a talented, passionate and naturally curious Frontend Engineer to join our Engineering team. Our software engineers are problem solvers who get excited about pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve, love learning and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The skinny

  • Help create new Javascript SDK and libraries which help empower product customization
  • Work on self-service tools and systems which power our user experiences
  • Code, write tests and collaborate with an awesome group of highly passionate engineers
  • Your work will run on the latest tech through Docker and Kubernetes in the Google Cloud Platform

 The specs

What we're looking for 🔎

Everyone at Ghost is an engineer, including our design team. We're looking for designers who are as comfortable working in HTML/CSS as they are in Figma. This is a broad role which is about leading design efforts in lots of different areas, but particularly around our website, brand and our public facing themes. So we're looking for people with extensive experience building beautiful, functional websites.

There's no "hand-off" process at Ghost, all designers deliver their own creations and are responsible to the full spectrum of tasks from ideation, to front-end development, and performance analysis.

What this role involves:

🎨 Creation of websites, landing pages, themes, email templates, checkout flows, billing UI. Designing and building many of our most public facing properties. The visual voice of the company. ⚡️ Working with design and marketing teams to define, evolve, and maintain Ghost's brand identity across all marketing and product touch points. 🚀 Working with the marketing/business team on projects which are directly related to growing the business and creating user-facing content. 💑 We work on cross-functional product teams of 2-5 people, usually one designer and a few developers. 👻 Lots of freedom to take control of your process, iterating and learning what works (and what doesn't), and putting your work into production. There's a lot of opportunity for professional growth here, as the team expands. 📢 Communicating effectively with stakeholders when presenting your work and clearly articulating your design rationale 🤹‍♂️ Managing multiple projects, while setting appropriate expectations and meeting realistic deadlines

We’re looking for someone who is:

Very comfortable with code. Ghost is a software company, and everyone here codes in one way or another. You'll need to be comfortable with coding your designs in modern HTML & CSS. Fiercely independent. All teams at Ghost operate fairly autonomously, and all team members are responsible for helping make decisions about what needs to be done. You'll need to be comfortable ideating, prototyping, testing and delivering designs without someone standing over your shoulder telling you what to do. Meticulous about style. Despite frequent character assassination amongst UX professionals, aesthetic style matters a great deal. We don't A/B test 50 shades of blue here to determine what converts best, we care about making beautiful things which we love. Humble but opinionated. We like smart people who have lots of ideas, yet are happy to discard their former opinions whenever a better way of doing things presents itself. A clear communicator. Good design is good communication, and as a remote team which communicates almost exclusively through writing — concise, written communication is absolutely essential to this role. An active collaborator. We look for people who actively want critical feedback on their work early and often, and who get a kick out of refining and pushing what they do as a collaborative process because it creates a better end result. No design heroes. Hungry for meaningful work, and space to do it. Almost all work at Ghost is complex and extremely challenging - but also deeply rewarding. We're not in the slightest bit fucking interested in what Design-Twitter thinks about... well, anything at all really. We're actively uncool like that.

This is a role where you can help influence design over the long term, not just fulfil a temporary brief which needs to be delivered quickly.

We don't mind where you're based or what hours you work, but this role does require reasonable working-hours overlap with the rest of our product/marketing teams in Europe.

We value diversity of all types at Ghost and our team is made up of a kind, thoughtful group of people with a wide range of backgrounds. We have as many people who speak German as we do English and our engineering team contains as many women as it does men. Some of us are single, others are married, while others are parents. We actively try to find people with different perspectives and experiences to the ones we already have.

What You'll Do

The mission of the Infrastructure team is to enable product teams to be successful. Ultimately, you’ll make the lives of our product engineers easier. You’ll help us to deliver a high quality product into the hands of our valued customers multiple times a day by helping engineers automate the process of building and shipping code from local development environments to testing to continuous deployment pipelines.

On a given day you might spend some time working with a product engineer to help prepare a new micro-service for deployment to our cluster, working through our production readiness checklist and ensuring the service is ready, while noting any ambiguities or inconsistencies in the process. Later you might continue adding some additional capabilities to our deployment pipeline to support some new workflows specific to python applications. You might finish the day by putting some final touches to a new tool you’ve been creating to help engineers identify services which are approaching scaling limits so we can perform any necessary work before it’s too late.

We strive to have a healthy mix of smaller, reactive tasks mixed in with more proactive longer term projects. Communication and education are key aspects of this role, and you will likely spend time creating written documentation or recording screencasts about our tools as well as actively seeking feedback via interviews or surveys.

Our Current Tech Stack

Here are some of the tools we currently use, and that you’ll be expected to work with, debug, or otherwise support. We’re always open to using something new if it’s a better tool for the job!

Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Cloudflare Pipelines: Helm, Github Actions, Jenkins, Travis CI Scripting: Node.js, Python, Bash, Shell scripting, Infra-as-code (e.g. Terraform) Helpful Skills and Experience

More important than specific technical skills, we are looking for someone who is eager to solve problems and do the work to identify those problems and then work collaboratively and creatively to solve them. We have existing CI/CD pipelines and local developer environment tooling and are always looking for ways to remove pain points and be more efficient, allowing product engineers to craft software with the confidence that it will work when it is deployed to production.

That said, we expect that the successful candidate will satisfy most of the following:

A deep interest in delivering intuitive and reliable well-documented tools. Track record supporting and enabling engineering teams with developer tools (cli tools, designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, scripting and automation). Proficiency in debugging/troubleshooting complex systems and a strong ‘growth mindset’ to learn and figure out unknowns. A track record in exercising good judgement around build-or-buy decisions for developer tooling (i.e. when to build a custom solution vs buying one off-the-shelf) is helpful, but not required. While we prioritize skill and interest over number of years of experience, successful applicants typically have least 3 years experience as an engineer working with cloud services & platforms. Experience working on SaaS solutions a bonus.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be building new internal tools such as our new Admin portal, working autonomously with one other full stack engineer and a PM to ensure our customer advocates are set up to do their best work every day. Our Admin portal is built in Node.js and Next.js, with the front-end components built in React. You’ll also be working with GraphQL APIs. Working with Zendesk to integrate tools as needed. Integrating product communication tools such as AppCues,, Wootric, as needed. Researching, scoping and building out new custom tools as the need arises. You will work within our engineering teams, collaborating closely with product managers, customer advocates, engineering managers and more using tools like GitHub, Zoom, email, Threads, Slack and Jira. As you gain context, you’ll provide technical guidance to teammates and insight into technical decisions to product managers. We’re looking for a new teammate ready and willing to take a technical leadership role on this important new team. As a teammate at Buffer, you will agree to uphold our values and code of conduct.

Helpful Skills and Experience

We're looking for the ideal candidate. Not all of these are "must haves" so please take the leap to get in touch, even if you don't feel you meet all criteria!

You have experience in JavaScript on the server with Node.js and front-end frameworks. React.js is preferred, but not required. Proficiency with GraphQL, TypeScript and Next.js is strongly preferred. You have experience with any JavaScript frameworks. In this role, you will be expected to work across the stack. You have experience integrating tools and working with external APIs.
You care about empowering other teammates and take pride in delivering the best possible tools to allow others to succeed. You care about writing simple, maintainable code and you take a balanced approach to engineering, embracing pragmatism over perfection in your work. Familiarity with testing frameworks and libraries such as Jest and React Testing Library is preferred, but is not required. We value the depth and quality of your experience, over counting years. That said, successful applicants typically have 3 years + of development experience.

What we're looking for 🔎

For this position, we're specifically looking for experienced back-end JavaScript engineers with a track record of shipping large-scale projects and working in teams, confident taking a broad brief and seeing it through from start to finish.

Node.js experience is important, because that's what Ghost is written in! Ember.js experience is a big advantage, too. Experience working with other parts of our stack is a bonus, particularly Bookshelf, Knex, Express and Handlebars. A good grasp of MySQL and SQLite3 are helpful too, but not essential. Any other experience with startups, SaaS, open source, distributed applications or remote work is also very valuable.

One of the major perks of engineering at Ghost is that almost every single thing you work on will be released as open source under the MIT license. So you’re not just writing code for us, you’re writing it for yourself and for everyone else - both now, and in the future. Instead of spending years doing work will eventually be locked away in a box labelled “intellectual property” — you'll get to write code which is open for anyone to use, including you in your own future projects!

People who are great at written communication and highly self-motivated tend to do best at Ghost. The majority of our team is made up of former founders, freelancers and self-starters who are confident and comfortable working independently and getting things done.

This role would be well suited to someone who is experienced at building/shipping products, looking for a big/interesting thing to work on with a great international team and a healthy work/life balance. Our culture at Ghost is one of calm, happy work. Not a frantic startup treadmill.

Maybe you’re overworked at a traditional tech company and uncomfortable with the level of resemblance your life bears to an episode of HBO’s Silicon Valley. Or maybe you’ve been solo bootstrapping products for years and you're ready to work on something bigger with a group of excited, likeminded people.

We value diversity of all types at Ghost and our team is made up of a kind, thoughtful group of people with a wide range of backgrounds. We have as many people who speak German as we do English, some of us are single, others are married, while others are parents. We actively try to find people with different perspectives and experiences to the ones we already have. Women and minorities of any description are especially encouraged to apply!

What it's like to work here

Well, we work remotely from all over the world! Most communication happens on Slack, with weekly meetings via Zoom. That used to be something remarkable that was worth mentioning, but hey — 2020 is weird.

The biggest perk of working at Ghost is that we have a small, talented team with a very large audience. This means you have the ability to have a huge impact on the product and the company, whilst also having interesting and challenging problems to work on. We believe deeply in what we do, and we're all in this to build something lasting, sustainable and positive.

Your mission

We’re looking for a front-end developer to help us maintain and evolve in a way that supports and inspires people to get the most out of our products and their music making. You’ll share the responsibility for front-end implementation and maintenance of, collaborating with product owners, designers, back-end developers, and content producers at our head office in Berlin.

You will assist teams across Ableton to deliver everything from small optimizations to large-scale redesigns. We plan, explore, implement, and iterate in short cycles. We all share ownership in shaping Ableton’s current and future online presence. We give feedback and share learnings at every stage, looking for ways to improve how we work and the experiences we deliver.

Your role

You will work as part of a team, as well as autonomously to prototype, build and refine the front-end of You will help nurture a modular, responsive and well tested codebase You will use your expertise to help define the ongoing technology strategy that underpins user experiences on You will verify assumptions and refine ideas through exploration and experimentation, and help others to do the same Your profile

You have experience in collaborative development and maintenance of production websites built with HTML and CSS or Sass, and enhanced with JavaScript You have a deep appreciation for user experience and enjoy translating refined designs into responsive and interactive web products with high attention to detail You value semantic, accessible, and performant front-end code You understand that there is often more than one solution to a problem and feel comfortable making an informed decision on which one is most suitable for the requirements at hand You have proficient verbal and written communication skills in English and can collaborate well in a team environment Your application

If you like the sound of this role, please apply with the following documents and information:

CV (without a picture) Cover letter including a summary of the projects you’ve worked on and what role you played Desired starting date Salary expectation

All of our infrastructure and systems have gone through several iterations, but have ultimately been built by a small/scrappy team of passionate developers without significant prior sysadmin experience. Our platform these days is pretty solid, but it took us a long time and a lot of trial and error to get here. What we’re looking for now is a confident sysadmin, capable of helping our team taking our infrastructure to the next level.

For this position, we're explicitly looking for someone experienced (5+ years sysadmin experience) and confident in taking on a broad set of responsibilities managing, deploying and maintaining complex projects across several different environments.

Extensive experience in systems management and automation is a must. Experience specifically relating to web hosting at scale, continuous integration, monitoring and performance management is a huge advantage. Previous remote work and startup experience is also very valuable.

Our infrastructure is comprised of about 100 servers across two datacenters, running Ubuntu and managed with Saltstack, sitting behind a fairly deep CDN integration. Most common tech across our instances includes MySQL, Varnish, OpenResty/Nginx, LXC, Gluster, and a whole lot of Node.js.

We deliver these services with CI/CD and support them with VictorOps for on-call & alerts, Sensu for monitoring, TIG stack for metrics and have an increasing reliance on ElasticStack for logs and data. As we grow as a business, data & metrics are becoming core to our ability to succeed.

This role requires someone who is exceptional at clear, frequent communication, especially when identifying and responding to infrastructure failures, as well as…

🎛 Managing infrastructure requirements and optimisations based on app performance and user load scenarios ⚙️ Database clustering and replication management ☎️ Metrics, monitoring and on-call alert management 🔑 Common security issues and mitigation strategies 🤖Automation, automation & more automation

This role would be well suited to someone already working in an existing ops team at a fast-paced technology (particularly hosting) company. They'd be looking for more responsibility and more control and influence on the systems architecture. There are many of opportunities for growth here as the team expands!

We don't mind what hours you work, but this role requires reasonable working-hours overlap with the rest of the infrastructure team, as well as availability to be on-call on a rotating schedule in the event of downtime - so this role is restricted to UTC +0 to UTC +12 timezones. For this particular role the salary range is between $60k-$100k USD depending on location and experience.

Until now I (Pieter Levels) have always done everything myself. To take off the load as a founder so I can take a break in 2021 after a years of non-stop working, and do things a bit more properly, I've started to hire people to replace me.

I'm looking to hire a Product Engineer. With that I mean a generalist software engineer focused on product outcomes rather than any specific part of the stack or language. You need to be more frontend focused than a typical programmer, and re-use any API or backend that exists to get the job done.

This is a full-time position.

  • keep existing features working (we monitor most pages and API endpoints every minute)
  • fix bugs that might come up (we have live PHP/JS bug tracking)
  • build new features, that means coding the client side part of it (usually plain JS or w/ jQuery, but without fancy frameworks), and the back end side of it (usually plain PHP with SQLite) ship fast and iterate based on customer feedback (right now we deploy CI/CD-style about 50 times per day)

• you work on sites that get over 1.4 billion requests per year used by over 1 million people per month • you work directly with me (Pieter Levels) and learn how to ship fast with a laser focus on building what customers want while learning how to market those new features directly to an audience

You should be • autonomous and be able to figure things out for yourself, but I might go AWOL for awhile, so you need to make the best choices yourself how to fix something, or how to build a new feature • not wanting to do things the proper overengineering way with Kubernetes clusters and Docker and multi layered sharded databases to scale like in BigCo tech enterprise; doing things proper is good but making customer's happy is the #1 priority, quickly made scrappy code can always be refactored later if a feature starts making money, instead of proper code that took a long time to write for a feature that nobody ends up using

You'll work in a team with • a Site Reliability Engineer, who keeps the sites up • a Community Manager, who keeps the Nomad List community safe a Customer Service Specialist, who keeps our customers happy

We’re looking for a full stack engineer to take a leading role in building out our brand new Administration portal for customer advocates to serve our customers, integrate and maintain product tooling such as AppCues, and more, and be part of understanding pain-points and delivering creative solutions for various teams. This may be through building custom tooling using React, Next.js, TypeScript and GraphQL, or through effective use of ‘off the shelf’ integrations. A creative approach and an interest in build vs buy tradeoffs and how best to achieve a given outcome is especially valuable.

We are currently transitioning from a company that offers several separate products to having an all in one solution, and so this team is responsible for integrating the support experience for these different product lines. For example, a user who DMs on Twitter about a problem with Analytics should seamlessly receive the same great support as someone who emails us about a Tweet not sending. To do this, our customer advocates need world class tools that put the information they need from myriad sources at their fingertips.

The initial scope of this role is to improve customer service tooling and customer experience related to product education and advocacy. This team's mission is planned to evolve beyond that too, to include pro-active initiatives like new third-party integration opportunities.

 Who You'll Work With

In this role, you’ll report to Colin Ross, Engineering Manager of the Infrastructure Team. Day-to-day you’ll work closely with and be supported by Mick Mahady, Software Engineer, and Amanda Marochko, Head of Strategic Partnerships.###

Otis is looking for talented frontend engineers to bring our vision of democratizing wealth to life. We're not looking for rockstars or ninjas; we're simply looking for smart people who are always willing to learn, enjoy collaborating, and never shy away from a challenge. You'll be joining a lean engineering team working to build a consumer facing app at the intersection of culture and fintech, poised to scale in the coming year.

What you'll do:

  • As a front end engineer, you will play a key role building our mobile app in React Native and Redux.
  • This includes building new features, maintaining and improving our codebase, and providing feedback on APIs and architecture.
  • Our team is highly collaborative, and you’ll also have the chance to provide feedback on everything from culture to architecture, as well as team operations and the overall product.

 Who you are:

  • You have 2+ years experience with React or Vue.
  • You are obsessed with clean code. You take pride in great class design and choosing the right level of abstraction. Tests are your best friend.
  • You love keeping up with the latest developments in the mobile world. Last year, you were mad that Hooks for React hadn't been released yet.
  • You're familiar with REST APIs. You immediately wrinkle your nose when you see POST /update_name.

  • You understand—and are excited to join—an early stage company and have the opportunity to play a critical part in building the app and new features.
  • U.S. work authorization with no visa sponsorship required.

About Otis At Otis, we turn aficionados into shareholders. We believe in transparency, liquidity, and trusting your own gut. We're democratizing an otherwise closed market and making alternative assets accessible. Invest in the things that you value, and whose value you understand, for as little as $25 and build a portfolio better suited to a museum than a stock ticker.

Our Culture We have a saying here: “we design our culture like we design the product.” Culture is the most important foundation for a successful company. A great culture provides the context for people to deliver their best work. Our goal is to find the fastest way to win. Our culture is designed to allow us to achieve this .

Transparent Compensation We don’t believe that better negotiators necessarily make better employees. Every employee can see their current salary, the salary levels for their team, and what each level’s salary increase would amount to in the future. This allows us to offer equal pay to all employees.

Otis is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a culture where diverse thoughts are welcomed and rewarded.

  • We prefer people who are passionate about their craft, and ideally have an interest in internet advertising, algorithmic ad trading, workflow automation, a/b testing, data warehousing, and solving business problems in collaboration with customers.

  • We’re looking for engineers who are strong hands-on coders but experience in every technology we use is not critical, as long as you’re committed to learning what you’re not familiar with already.

  • Solid understanding of data warehousing, relational databases, and data modeling/design techniques and tuning (non-relational database experience a plus).

  • Advanced SQL skills including query optimization.

  • Experience working in "big data" platforms and related tools & scripting languages including Amazon Redshift & EMR, Presto, Hive, Python, Spark, Scala, BASH & K-shell scripting, etc.

What you’ll be doing at Goodway:

  • Designing and building software with an emphasis on usability, quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Work with product owners in an agile environment to analyze requirements and translate them into functioning software.

Anduril is a defense technology company, bringing Silicon Valley talent and funding to the defense sector. Our technology helps our customers solve their toughest challenges by enabling them to make better, more informed decisions in life-and-death situations. We’ve assembled a diverse team of experts in artificial intelligence, computer vision, sensor fusion, optics, and data analysis that are creating software and hardware solutions to radically evolve the capabilities of the United States and our allies. If you are passionate about solving problems that have real impact, come join Anduril and build the future of defense.

We are extraordinary problem solvers, teammates, get-stuff-done-ers, and people who care deeply about our work. We come from all types of backgrounds, and we are committed to removing any and all barriers that might exclude someone from feeling like they belong at Anduril.

About the role:

Visualization and Control for Data Awareness

As a Native Client Software Engineer at Anduril you will be designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving the native client for Anduril’s intelligent systems. You will be working alongside a team of engineers with a diverse set of backgrounds on a suite of applications primarily developed in C++.

Your immediate areas of influence will include playback of captured data, both historical and live, as well as other important areas with substantial conceptual complexity for which the presentation of the data must be organized for user requirements that vary widely in order to serve different workflows which may have conflicting needs. Another immediate area of influence would be on the simulation of data, both to be able to create scenarios and run “what ifs” on them as well as extrapolating from recent but highly latent data to determine the most likely state of the current world. Overlaying correlated historical data would be a related challenge that could be taken on.

As an early member of the team, your decisions will have a large impact on the company and for our end-users. We believe that simple systems are easier to understand, maintain, and scale and promote this belief all of the way from the software core to the user experience.

You will be making trade-offs as you work to ensure that our systems are prepared to scale, to be able to view a local environment and transition quickly to a comprehensible global perspective; being able to effectively communicate these trade-offs with your teammates as well as our customers is critical.

The ideal candidate has curiosity and experience in a wide range of custom systems and libraries.

  • Find the optimal balance between research direction and day-to-day delivery of robust solutions
  • Performance optimizations, being able to simultaneously optimize for memory and execution efficiency
  • Collaborate with colleagues to determine appropriate abstractions from implementation to user experience
  • Support research into preventing cybersickness in VR

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Robotics, or related technical field
  • Experience developing software and algorithms for complicated applications especially data-intensive AI and 3D interactive simulations
  • Experience with custom engines in addition to open source libraries, licenced engines, and frameworks
  • Strong C++ skills. Anduril's native client software team uses C++ and all team members must have an understanding of the costs of using various language features related to development speed, readability, performance, and ease of maintenance
  • Strong instincts for efficiency and optimization

Preference to candidates having experience with:

  • Video games or high performance embedded systems
  • VR or related technologies
  • Visualization of extremely large datasets
  • CPU/GPU programming
  • OS internals and kernel development/debugging

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Availability to support 24/7 on-call rotation during demonstrations
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds

  • This role is available as a work from home position with up to 20% travel
  • This role is open to both promising mid level and senior candidates
  • While much of the work will ultimately be in VR and AR environments, direct experience is not required for technically strong candidates
  • Self-taught or personal experience is acceptable for all Requirements and Qualifications

Square builds common business tools in unconventional ways so more people can start, run, and grow their businesses. When Square started, it was difficult and expensive (or just plain impossible) for some businesses to take credit cards. Square made credit card payments possible for all by turning a mobile phone into a credit card reader. Since then Square has been building an entire business toolkit of both hardware and software products including Square Capital, Square Terminal, Square Payroll, and more. We’re working to find new and better ways to help businesses succeed on their own terms—and we’re looking for people like you to help shape tomorrow at Square.

Job Description Square has grown into a platform of product services that help merchants run their business. From the inside, these product services are segmented into business units with their own product and engineering teams. Underneath, there's a platform organization that supports this plethora of products.

Our team, Square Console, is part of this larger platform organization. We work with platform teams to help expose functionality of their services via internally accessible browser-based tooling. We build tools for quick and easy deployment, service provisioning, secret management, database monitoring, user administration and so on. We use the latest and greatest technology stack: React.js, TypeScript, Webpack, Jest and styled-components. Our goal is to write well tested, maintainable and readable code that could be understood by engineers with no front-end experience with little effort.

If this sounds interesting, here are some of the tasks that you would work on as part of our team:

  • Develop, and deploy incremental improvements to our front-end platform.

  • Write reusable components and libraries.

  • Write and review engineering design documents and guide product design.

  • Work with many teams at Square.

  • Write clean, concise and well-tested code.

  • Work autonomously with no micromanagement or oversight.

Qualifications You have:

  • 2+ years of industry related experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of the front-end development process (JavaScript, DOM, CSS).

  • Troubleshooting skills through the entire stack, front-end to back-end.

  • Experience with React.js stack.

  • Good eye for UI and UX.

Technologies we use: TypeScript, React.js, Webpack, Antd, React Router, ESLint, Prettier, Jest, GraphQL, Styled Components, React Testing Library and many more.
